RUNNING: WARM UP + COOL DOWN SEQUENCE w/EMILIE

In my experience, running is the most common form of exercise where most people don't include a warm-up or cool-down. Or at least the warm-up and cool-down are marked down as a 'light jog.' But there's not usually specific movements that people do to improve their running performance to help them recover. The opposite is usually true for weightlifting, HIIT, yoga, etc.....which include more specific pre and post routines

I've asked a few people why that is, and they say they run because they don't have to think about anything. It's easy to just get out the door and go. So adding that pre & post routine is more of a 'making time' habit, as well as knowing what to do.

FOOT PAIN: HOW TO WORK THIS AREA

This spot right here, is a secret weapon against pain. It's an area of the foot that is often over worked or compressed by:

Flip flops
Narrow shoes
Shoes with a heel

Running through that area is nerves & blood vessels that don't appreciate being compressed, potentially leading to some pain signals from your body asking for help! (and not always in that area)

Working this area with your hands can be a nice way to help release the tension, in addition to modifying your footwear to choose a wider + more relaxed environment for your feet.
